OMG!!!

I am not going to say much but this photograph arrived this morning from our dear and long-standing friend Dave who has always loved photography and has taken some brilliant pictures. He is trawling through his archives and sent us this ...

The perm didn't last long - I soon had it all cut off,  and Mr T was always a bit of a poser. He is two years my junior and as you can see looks very boyish here, we can't have been married long . I have been grovelling around in the photo archives and have found one other picture of me with THAT perm dated Nov '79, and  also photos of me in summer 80 with short hair so we can date this to early 1980, I'm 30 and Mr T 28 - aaah - thought you would like a peek

OMG indeed! I think you have aged well and that you both look much better now than back then but of course that is probably because of the fashions back then. It's scary isn't it to see what we looked like back when we thought we looked so good!

Photos in which one has with suspect hairstyles are always the ones that survive in my experience. My husband had a shiny jacket like that, too, but I avoided a perm as my hair is so thick I would have looked as if I'd an electric shock!

Oooo. I have bad perm photos in my past as well. You truly look fine under that bunch of curls, though. And your Mr. is very handsome.

Bad perms were the order of the day back then, weren't they? But it's only when looking back that we see them as "bad".... I have had some corking bad perms as my hair is extremely fine.... :O)))))

Jill,
That perm was very much an 80's thing that I remember well. At least you didn't have shoulder pads in your jumper, another 80's phenomenon! I'm not sure about that shiny jacket of Mr T's but think it suits him. Lesley

I think you looked fine. The first perm I had with hubby in my life she said I looked like the bride of Frankenstein with out the streak. lol.

I had a root perm done by hairdresser students (v cheaply) which meant it was curly & floppy if you did nothing, but if you teased it, bearing in mind this was the early 80's it stuck out beautifully...I'll have to search out a pic.....what have you started?!
