On the beach

Here are some photographs I took on the beach. I have enhanced them in Photoshop Elements.
This is the original picture I took of the sea. I was struck by the layers of colour caused by the shallow water over areas of sand and seaweed.

By adjusting the levels of light and contrast I have brought out the different colours. The range of hues is wonderful. Click on the picture for a close-up.

Here I added a 'motion blur' layer, but adjusted its opacity so some of the sparkle shows through.

The next couple are of seaweed.

All sorts of creative ideas are going through my head when I look at these.

Postscript:
Peacock update - (see previous post)
Seen in local Post Office window a notice reading;

So we guess he has gone home, but we are not sorry that he is not living next door!

I can see you were really have fun with the Photoshop filters. That software takes a snapshot to a whole new level. And I'm glad for you that Mr. Peacock--as handsome as he was--is home and not next door.

As always beautiufl photography Jill. That seascape is lovely and I am thinking what a wonderful source of inspiration it would make for a tapestry of some sort or perhaps a machine embroidered piece using torn strips of different coloured fabric, maybe silks.....! I dare say that is as far as I'll get with it but the idea is there. Glad the peacock went home they are beautiful but very noisy creatures aren't they?

I'm visiting from Amelia. Gorgeous pictures - I've been skimming through all of them. So beautiful.

I couldn't resist borrowing the Austen heroine link. I fudged some of the answers to be sure of getting Elizabeth Bennet, though. ;o)

Photoshop is fun, isn't it? :O)))))

Glad the peacock has found its way home. Don't think I would have been too tolerant of one.....

Jill,
You and Cathy are much better at mastering Photoshop than me. I'm inspired to sort out a few snaps though and try the same moves. I have Elements 7 so should be able to get a similar effect (famous last words) The seaweed photos are super. I love that coral red colour. Will look forward to seeing the result of this inspiration in due course! Lesley

I guess Mr. Peacock is just a wake 'em and leave 'em sort of guy! Great effects with your PhotoShop. I never have the patience. Guess I need to add that to the "retirement list", too.

I am sure you must be delighted that the peacock has gone home. They are very noisy. Beautiful photographs. Like the shimmering on the second one.
