My re-entry into the world of art and crafting started three years ago when I bought my first serious camera - a Nikon D40 DSLR. As I had no idea how to get the most out of it I registered with the Open College of Art for their photography course. After a year I upgraded my camera to the D80 and have completed another course, the work for which is at the early months of this blog. Now my camera has to fight for time with all my other projects, but I do enjoy creating abstract images so I thought I'd share these with you.

Those photos are beautiful Jill. I love finding the patterns and designs in everyday things too but my photography isn't beyond the point and click stage I am afraid! I can see all sorts of ideas for interpreting those designs in textiles too.

Hi again Jill
Your photos are truly fabulous. The Nikon you mention is the one I use (for the moment since it's my husbands, so he keeps reminding me!) and I have no clue how to get the best out of it. I think what you are doing is amazing, I would love to do that too - perhaps I should add it to my ever-growing lengthy list!

Wow! Most excellent photos! I really like the classic effect you get with the black and white. I have a Nikon D40 and I love it. I have a feeling it is one of those things that is only limited by the user's abilities. Mine is more of a toy than a tool, but I've added a 70-300 zoom lens which is a little large for the body but I get some fun shots with it.
Thank you for your visit and your comment Jill - Holkham really is quite special isn't it?
I can see you are a serious photographer with a wonderful D80! Great photos of the ironwork, made magical with a layering of snow.
I'm off now to have a further look through your lovely blog!

Had at least four goes at leaving a message re these photos yesterday: my dongle kept cutting out, always at the "post comment" stage so am not sure whether you received them: These photos are S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G! Just stunning. Love the simplicity of them. Now of course I have the worry that there will be my comments appearing x 5!!!
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We finally have got snow today! :O)
Beautiful photos Jill - B/W has creates such impact. Best wishes. Lesley
