I cannot believe it is ...

... over a week since my last post - and what a gloomy week we have had here in Bedfordshire. Luckily we have had a very sociable seven days which has kept me happy despite the lack of sunshine. Many of you commented on my calendar pages last month when I suggested that I might not bother to post them any more, so I have decided to carry on. I thought you might be getting bored with my life!
Here are my offerings.

Good riddance to August I say, it started so hopefully.
I do hope we have a little more sunshine next month.  The trees are full of fruit but round here we could do with a little warmth to sweeten things up.
My colours were inspired by the fruit and berries, leaves which seem to be turning already and the grass which is still really green and is going to need cutting AGAIN soon.

I have started my Creative Sketchbook course with Linda and Laura Kemshall 's Design Matters.
The package is really well presented with lots of helpful videos.
This week I have been doing a lot of drawing.  I often draw natural objects, but these studies require a bit more discipline.

My accuracy has definitely improved.

My computer is really giving me a hard time and it takes ages to scan or up load photographs.  I think this is why I have been a bit more reluctant lately to keep up with regular blogging.  I have a horrible feeling the whole thing is going to jam up on me.  I am pretty sure I am gong to treat myself to an Apple Mac so I now need to get everything backed up and ready to transfer to a new machine as well as rebuilding my computer desk so it will accommodate the larger screen.  Although this is something I should do joyfully, I am a great procrastinator when it comes to change!

Have a good week - what is left of it, and here's to a sunnier September.

Fantastic drawings Jill. I'm only half way through my first one!

I like the 3rd one, even though it is the same spoon, looks so different with the various methods. Just made a start on my 1st drawing. I think we'll start dreaming of cutlery.

I'm thinking of investing in a Mac as well, my nephew has one from school for his GCSE's and let me have a go on it a while back.

thanks for sharing your calendar pages. we've had a few gloomy days here also, although should be in upper 90's this weekend. so much for august.

At least your August pages are a sunny colour! I really like the fruity purple/green combo for September. This is such a super way of recording life - which is NEVER boring, as these pages show.

I'm lovin' the spoons, really tricky to do and you've 'got' the reflections brilliantly.

Jill,
The spoon sketches are excellent but then I am an acknowledged fan of the cutlery drawer so no surprise there. Lots of sunshine here all week but I fear it is on the wane. Never mind, your diary pages have enough brightness to them to keep us going. You may think you procrastinate but I'm always amazed at how much you get done! Glad you're enjoying the sketchbook course so much. Keep us posted. Lesley

Glad you are going to continue posting your journal - I love it and wish I could limit my musings each day to a small square like yours! Sunshiny bright pages and lovely drawings of cutlery too.

You have adorable pages and I for one love what you have created. These are mini works of daily art, and they impress me beyond belief. Your Sept pages are great examples of the autumn we will soon have. I would gladly trad you some of my heat for your cool and wet weather.

I really like your cutlery sketches, with the shine and reflections. The damp weather and grey days are a chance to stay in and have fun creating, brighten up your days with all the lovely paints and threads, and forget the weather. You always have lovely colourful things to see and great ideas.

Lovely sunny pages for August and the contrast for Sept is fantastic, love this colour combo :-) We've had lousy weather the last 2 days!
I don't blog or bloghop nearly so much as it is so time-consuming.
Your drawings are wonderful. I'd love to be able to draw but I know it requires a lot of practice and I'm not ready to do that just yet.
Went to the Needlework and Quilting show at Harrogate on Sunday, had a really good day bought more stuff to stick in a drawer or on a shelf!!! I am sorting out my papercrafting stuff and housing it upstairs but keeping my sewing machine down here and hope that once sorted I can get on with more sewing.
