Sunday

Just a short post today - where does the time go?

First, here is a page from my journal recording how I made my 'Scribble Boxes' which are now on sale in my Etsy shop.     Here is another one I have made, along with the ones you have already seen, forgive me for blatant advertising.

Something in the air

Although we are still in the middle of winter, somehow we have turned the corner towards spring, the bulbs I planted in the autumn are showing through and the birds are tuning up their songs

My winter flowering iris is always a cheerful sight.
(iris unguicularis)

and Marvin is doing fine ... he is eating well and drinking a lot, which of course a symptom of his diabetes, but otherwise is showing no symptoms.  I am hoping to go to visit my family on the Isle of Wight for a couple of days this week, leaving Marv in charge of Mr T, fingers crossed for some fine weather.

Have a good week.
Jill

An iris in January - I am so jealous. My hellebores are still not blooming - it's just too darn cold! And not a camillia in sight. Thanks for sharing yours. Love the boxes. Travel safely.

Jill, your journal page is a treat, documenting the journey of your scribble boxes...I love it, and them! They are gorgeous. I'm glad spring is just around the corner and the days are starting to lengthen bit by bit, what you have captured with your camera is a sight for sore eyes - always :) x

How I love clicking on your journal pages for a closer look. You have such a lovely distinctive style. Beautifully worked boxes, I am sure they will be a great success and how lovely to see Marv looking in such great shape. Our first crocus is in flower and it feels like Spring is on its way. Like you, we have also noticed the birds finding their voices again and isn't it just great?

Lovely lovely boxes Jill. I used to have one of those irises and they are so delicate and beautiful aren't they especially as they come up when spring is still just a distant hope. Glad Marvin is doing well and do hope you will enjoy your trip to IOW and have good weather.

Great journal page about the process. Reminded me that I need to think about acrylic wax for my notebook.
Happy and safe visit to your family.

Fabulous journal page and fabulous boxes too. Have no doubt they'll fly off your Etsy shelves. Good luck with them and enjoy your visit to your family on the Isle of Wight. Lesley

Those are the nicest set of 'how to make' instructions I've ever seen. You could publish a book!

Hi Jill - I LOVE your blog. Have had a very happy time scrolling thru your older posts, and am very tempted to be a latecomer to the 2011 Calendar challenge. I also think your stitched books are divine, and linked to them in my last blog post to share the love. Have become a follower and look forward to seeing more of what you create.

Lovely boxes Jill.
My cat eats a lot, is quite fat, but not overweight, and drinks a lot. I wonder if he's diabetic ? How did you know?
