These pages look quite striking, but because there is lots of colour on the squares which are bleached out areas they did not take colour very well. There is always something to be learned when doing this sort of thing.  I was inspired for my November pages by one of my long term Flickr contacts who I have been neglecting a lot lately. Unfortunately I cannot download Diana's picture, but you can see it here. She had captured  autumn leaves amongst grey stones. Hopefully the grey days, which are squares of pastel paper from an old sketchbook will fill with colour.

Diana and I 'met' when we both joined the same Flickr group when we had the same camera and we shared a love of cats. However Diana is an amazingly prolific photographer and has an incredible range of subjects from beautiful formal still lifes to wonderful candid portraits often taken in New York . I would say she favours classic subjects, but she can knock you sideways with a stunning 'off the wall' shot. Definitely worth a cruise through her photostream or her website here,

I love the new colour scheme idea - look forward to seeing the filled-in squares. Diana's pictures look great also.

thanks for the link. I am getting more and more into photography now that I am doing both a course and the MA.

Love your colour scheme too, I am getting braver too about using a bit more colour in my work (it helps with photography as there is always colour around!)

Those October pages are fabulous with the bleached effect. The grey squares make a great impact over the lovely background and I'm sure your sketchy drawing will add even more as the November days fill in.

Love the bleached effect on the October page, really different. I love your hand writing and little doodling, wish I could doodle and draw, thinking of taking drawing lessons.

October looks busy - no doubt we'll be saying that about November in a few weeks' time! The subtle November shades are lovely.

I like the fruit and the honesty that is down in the left hand corner of October. Hadn't realised Jill that the first of November this year looked so unusual written down until I saw your post title........

Last night in a tidy up I found the pages I started at the beginning of the year - plus three months worth of lists of things that happened each day to illustrate. I take my hat off to you for managing to keep this going all year!

OCTOBER is just absolutely fabulous. As ever, I am in awe of your artistry, your imagination, your flair. Bah humbug....

The bleaching means you can read the writing well - do you use a pen or stuff you buy in the supermarket? Love the 'gravel' squares in November. Thanks for your visit!

I use household bleach in a reservoir brush Emma - that is still no guarantee I don't bleach my clothes!!
