ten ten ten

I was going to take some significant photographs today, but some how I haven't managed it. However we had a great lunch out with one of Mr T's old school friends and his wife.  Mr T has only met up with him a couple of times since 1974! So as you can guess there was a lot of catching up to do. I'm afraid I am not used to eating in the middle of the day and fell asleep in the armchair when we got home!
Yesterday another of Mr T's old school friends who we have reconnected with this year, brought his son over for lunch. John was a lovely lad  and soon made friends with Marvin who is a sucker for a brisk brush down with the deck scrubber.

Marv with his new friend - John

and oh yes, that is me and Mr T with John. Both of us looking a bit scruffy I hasten to add. Mr T has his gardening jacket on and I have a long overdue visit to the hairdresser tomorrow. But I thought I knew you all well enough now to see us in our everyday state!

And John took this one of his Dad and Mr T.

(  I was looking at the picture on my side bar and I had to smile. It suggests that my character from a Jane Austen novel would be Elinor Dashwood, I think is time to  face reality, I am more likely to be cast as Mrs Bennet!!)

Yesterday I put these book covers in my Etsy shop.

I'm not sure about that blue background, your opinion would be gratefully received.

The sky matched that blue today - hopefully the sun will be shining again tomorrow.
Wishing you a good week,
Jill

Glad you had a good day even if you didn't take any significant photos - your lunch was low carbon since you ate out!! Marvin looks to be enjoying his new friend's attention and I think you look great even before you go to the hairdresser! The book covers are lovely - strange how the bits of fabric I recognise jump out at me!! I like the photos especially the he loves me he loves me not daisy one.

Glad you spotted that the fabric you sent me in your give-away has been put to good use Jane.

What fun to meet with good friends. And make some more. Even Marvin made a new friend. Also fun to see your smile and to become better acquainted with you and Mr. T.

You are putting your sewing machine to good use. The book covers are such nice work. I'm sure they will go quickly to a pleased owner. Like the blue.

John looks like a sweet kid. Nice to see a picture of you and Mr. T, too.

I like the blues, both of them. You do take such beautiful, artistic pictures. :)

Jill,
Because you reminded us my husband and I waited for 10.10am yesterday morning and gave a big hooray as the LED light on the clock flashed it up! We were going for 10.10.10.10.10..... very childish, but we enjoyed it! The blue background looks good to me and so do you two. That's one posh jacket for gardening in! Lesley

What great photos - don't you all look so relaxed, specially Marvin!

Your book covers are lovely - a background pale and plain would really show them off, I think. If you watch the Etsy rolling screen of recently listed items, the ones that are easiest to see the details of are ones with light and uncluttered backgrounds. Just my thoughts Jill!

I think the way you have displayed the book covers is lovely - the blue works well and the flowers are an inspired touch

Lovely set of photos. Love the ones with Marvin being "entertained"! Nice to see you and your husband too. I am with Chrissie and think a light background would be beneficial in terms of setting your work off to full advantage.

How lovely to see a front view of you Jill! (And Mr T - he looks like an actor :-)
I thought of you on Saturday as I watched Frances Pickering at work at the KASS - I thought 'I've seen books like those somewhere before!' How lucky you are to have taken her class. Anyway, I have a signed copy of her book so maybe I'll have a go.....

Ha ha Linda, Mr T is a bit of an actor!!! Don't encourage him. He did actually teach drama, but hasn't done any acting (on a stage)for many years.

Hello Jill. It's nice to see you. I don't think you look scruffy - in fact your scarf coordinates rather nicely with John's top!

Glad you had a good day.

The book covers look great. I like the first blue background, although I don't think it brings out the colours in the book cover as a more neutral background might, but I find the bottom one a bit too strong.

I'm with Eileen. Like the idea of blue, but the first is too gray and the second too bright! Can't please anyone these days...

Thank you for your comments I may well re photgraph these again and compare results, I too think the blue is a little too strong.

Marvin must be a pretty laid back cat to allow the grooming with the deck brush... so like a boy to pick up that brush and do that. Nice photos of you and your husband and friends.
