Do you ever feel you a living in chaos?
I thought I would share my work space with you, which may explain why I haven't managed to get on top of anything this weekend! I did tidy my desk up last week would you believe? My work room is converted from our small garage and I work on an old oak office desk. Usually when I sew I clear a larger space, but as I was just sewing zips in, I didn't need much room. Opposite this desk is the computer which I can swivel round to. Here are a few close-ups.
Putting zips in these purses is a rather fiddly job and I haven't cracked it yet - not sure they will make it onto Etsy.
The windowsill is full - although it looks like chaos each thing is in its special place!
I made this pot from self-hardening Nu-clay back in the 70's, it has lasted remarkably well.
Some sewing projects fighting for space...
I have a few brushes!!
I have a busy week ahead, lots going on, all routine stuff unfortunately, but hopefully I will find some time to locate the top of my desk!
It is absolute pouring with rain this evening - I hope you haven't been washed away and are having a good week.

OMG! How did you get into my house?!!!
LOL
Seriously, I feel that way most of the time, exactly. My excuse is that mixed media demands having a lot of stuff.
This is so funny because when I opened my workroom door this morning, I was embarrassed. I then proceeded to TRY to clean off one shelf and 'locate the top of my desk' before breakfast!! I tried...it's better, but sometimes I think I must just function more creatively when I can see it all...all over the place. When stuff is put away, how do I know what I have??!!!
Jill,
Why do you think I have a shed? What the eye doesn't see..... I think most creative people work in their own sort of chaos don't they? After all, when the urge to create something comes along it could be lost while you're searching for all your stuff!I know what you mean about those zips. My friend showed me a cool way to insert them recently and I did a few little bags but it's too fiddly for me. Good luck with refining it. I'm sure you'll get there and expect to see them in that shop soon. Lesley
I'm so glad I'm not the only one to work in a mess. I do tidy up now and again and hoover the threads from the floor but when I am actually working on anything my workroom looks just like yours! There are some lovely bits of craftwork in amongst it all I see so it must work for you!

Trust me......... you look positivly tidy compared to me.... :O)))))))
Positively! :O)
My sewing room is a mess too, there is fabric everywhere including the floors but I just don't know where to put it all.
Makes my hands itch to get in and create things - love the table
Organised chaos is the only way to go Jill .... we must all be the same however I have to have a massive tidy up this weekend as the gas man is coming to service the boiler and at the moment he doesn't stand a cat in hell's chance of getting anywhere near it ;-)
Looks familiar to me. I found a good tutorial on fiddly zips. I'll email you the link.
Your creative space bears a startling resemblance to my own (minus the sewing machine!).
Oh yes - I was out in that rain - got soaked!
You're just a "piler". As long as you know approximately what's in each pile, you are fine. I'm a piler, too. Mitchell and I share an office, so I take time (on the clock) every Friday to file and straighten. It's the only way I can exist.
The zipped purses are pretty. Any way to put the zipper in early in the game? Good luck.
There are lots of delectable looking goodies in your space! I allowed myself a sigh of relief that your workspace is slightly chaotic - because it made me feel better about my own room! But like you say, it might look cluttered, but everything lives in its place....now I call that 'neat'!
An interesting challenge.
Don't they say that the true artists are the messy, chaotic ones? ;)
Seeing someone else's mess always makes me feel better! I think this looks wonderfully creative and colourful. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with your posts recently. Am just starting to catch up.
This looks very familiar...I think having lots of stuff out all at once shows how creative you are!
