Something different - again!!

Marvin mini-quilt

I thought I'd try something different - a bit inspired by Cathy's embroidery on Menopausal Musings, I thought I'd satin stitch a Marvin. He has taken a good couple of weeks doing a bit most evenings. I then sewed him with a thin layer of wadding onto a postcard size piece of heavy-weight vilene practising my free stitching on the sewing machine. Outlining him was easier than I thought and made him stand out. I embelllished him with a bit of lace and some mini heart buttons and voila Marvin in his favourite spot - on the duvet. I have failed to embroider the muddy footprints. I popped him in the scanner so it is not a very good rendering.
Mr T looks at me as if I am mad - he can relate to my more practical projects.  I'm into a bit of machine stitching at the moment - so watch this space!

Wow, you can turn your hand to lots of different things! Don't worry - my husband looks at me as if I'm mad quite often hahahah!! There again, he usually has to sweep the felt-tips to one side to get into bed :-) I love all your stitching prjects. Kate

That sewing machine is a great addition to your arsenal of needlework tools. Marvin looks very comfortable amongst the lace. Hehe on the muddy footprints. I have watercolor sketches "signed" by curious cats.

Aw gorgeous. Has he sat on it yet? My cats have found a new bed (as cats do). A rucksack on the kitchen floor. I haven't the heart (or indeed inclination) to put it away in the cupboard. I have been missing your cat picture from your blog header.

Is there anything you can't do, or any idea you haven't had. I love it!! (and I'm not a cat person - sorry, Marvin.)

I'm not a cat person either but Marvin looks fabulous on the duvet, right down to his little pink nose! A wonderful piece Jill, does your creativity come from being slighly mad? Ha ha!

Marvin looks very comfy. This makes me want to get my embroidery silks out - I'll have to add it to my list, incentive to finish accounting and balnkets.
My husband frequently looks at me as if I'm mad - but then I'm not the one of us who went to the staion half an hour early for a train and missed it!

But I am the one who can't type or spell today - blankets and staion, of course.

Jill,
Is there no end to your talents? You can turn your hand to anything and make it look so achieveable. This piece sounds like it's been a labour of love and Marvin looks great on his quiltlet. I just wish I had a quarter of your energy and productivity! Lesley
