Green

This is the first of four pieces I am working on. One in green, one blue, a pink/purple and I've  just started a yellow square.  They are on linen painted with acrylic and embroidered with the machine and by hand. This has some appliqued dyed tissue and muslin scraps.  Each one has been inspired by nature, this one quite obviously is foliage . I love doing them, but have no idea what to do with them now - any suggestions.

Gorgeous. How about .... attach it to some chipboard and turn into a journal cover?

A thing must be either beautiful or useful and yours is certainly the former so does it have to be useful too? How big is it? Could you mount the four together and use as a picture when finished? Can't wait to see the rest.

I agree with Jane - can you mount them in 4 square frames or clip-frame mounts, then display them along one wall? They would look fab like that. Or else, all in one room, along the hallway etc...

Love the green one - how about the next?

I love this one and look forward to seeing the others. I think the idea of framing them, either as a group or singly, sounds good. They might also be part of a book - as leaves rather than a cover, maybe dividing one book into four seasons or four sections of some kind?

I agree, you could attach it to strong board, use it as a cover for journals/albums - maybe for the lovely photgraphs you take, journal about them, you know, like where you took them, what attracted you to take that shot, even what mood you were in at the time.

It's lovely Jill. I would be tempted to have it float mounted in a glazed frame. Lesley x

Jill,
Can I add my two pennies worth? I think you should either incorporate it into a book/journal cover or use it as a panel incorporated into a bag... or fold each piece and make a zippered pouch from them... hey, given my sewing skills , what do I know! Do what you lean towards most or wait until inpsiration strikes - sooner or later it will do. Lesley x

Wouldn't it help if I could spell inspiration? No wonder it eludes me..... Lesley

This is lovely Jill can't wait to see the others. I think I would do as Kate suggested or all four on a clip frame as Lizzie suggested, they would look awsome on a white wall.

I wonder if you could make an actual book from several of these. It would be lovely to look through at a later date.

Belated Happy Easter. Somehow I seem to have missed out on quite a few different people's Easter Posts....

Hormones probably.......
