It definitely looks a bit wishy-washy in this picture. I'll post January's completed pages next week.
Here is an empty chocolate box I've decorated for a friend's birthday...
Can you tell I photographed it upside down (not deliberately) and so I have rotated photo?
Unfortunately I did not get to eat the chocolates, but managed to rescue the box when I was in school last week. I work there one afternoon a week updating the school's web pages and occasionally doing a bit of display, or helping out in the office. I get to see all my colleagues and keep up with the goings on, although all the children I taught have left now. We always joked that if anything edible was left in the staffroom then it would be eaten by the end of the day, so by the time I got there - only this rather great box was left. It is the first time I have tried to apply my journal collage methods to a 3D object, but I am quite pleased with the results. I have popped a lavender bag inside to disguise the lingering smell of beautiful Thornton's chocolates which haunted me every time I took the lid off.

A box decorated so lovely as that could almost be edible in itself. Happy birthday to your friend.
LOVE your February page - very pink! Is that a stamp round the edge? Beautiful :-) And love the memory box too. Lots of empty choc boxes in our staff room too . . . . .!

The box looks almost edible itself! I am slightly envious of your lucky friend, but hope she has a good birthday all the same(very magnanimous of me, considering how much I would like that box!). I think I can feel another project coming on...
Like the calendar pages. It'll be interesting to see the finished January ones too.
Love that box. I will wait with interest to see the completed January pages and maybe I will join in in February as I didn't get away from the starting blocks in time for January!

I'm with Marigold Jam, cant wait to see the completed pages........
Loving your slide show at the side as I write this comment. The felted blue tit is beautiful.
You have been working hard. Love what you're achieving. Gorgeous pics in your slideshow - beautifully sharp, your course is clearly a goodie!
Beautiful box. Many years ago I used to sell decorated boxes, smaller than yours, and more simply decorated, but haven't done any for years. Maybe I will be inspired later..... have painted the pages for February, in a strong pink, and have yet to decorate it. I have also changed my mind about the format for my calendar.
What a great box Jill. Receiving something like this that has taken such time to make would be a treat. Are you going to put a little something inside too? I'm thinking of something small and felted maybe? Love the calendar pages but I can't get my head around it. I shall enjoy seeing how January's looks and maybe I might grasp the plot in a few month's time... Lovely work as always. Lesley.
I think you've made a great job with the box, it looks gorgeously vintage chic!
I also love the look and colour you've chosen for your feb calendar page.... pretty in pink!
Your friend is going to be delighted with that box Jill and I love your pink February pages ... I still haven't got round to looking at the needle felting or planning a calendar quilt .... family life getting in the way again with house moves and Ellie's little op next week .... never mind tomorrow is another day. Thanks for visting my giveaway post ... everyone has such a mix of tastes in music past and present and I am loving the memories that are being stirred by thinking about it all x
