As it's a theme that runs through all our work it's good to think about it more deeply sometimes; often it's an instinctive thing. We always know when it doesn't work!! It will be interesting to see the development of your quilt.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01989624921423448745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4465266982839881097.post-86607421700053979122012-10-13T12:03:57.043+01:002012-10-13T12:03:57.043+01:00Very interesting Jill. I'll have to pop back to follow your links as I have a birthday card to deliver just now, but I definitely want to read more about this.
Anne xLiverpool Lou (Anne)https://www.blogger.com/profile/00031623590883933453noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4465266982839881097.post-82115845618390316792012-10-13T11:15:07.035+01:002012-10-13T11:15:07.035+01:00Jill, when I did the colour module of my course ea...Jill, when I did the colour module of my course earlier this year I found a great quote by Marc Chagall that I've never forgotten and it's amazing how it pops into my mind when I'm faced with a drawer of paint tubes and wonder which ones to select. He said 'all colours are the friends of their neighbours but the lovers of their opposites' and it made it just click for me. I think colour theory is hard to master but you are working through the thinking process so clearly. I think the photographer's eye can only help with that can't it? I have to say that all this development work looks so enticing and seems to be leading up to a fantastic quilt!LAC EMP 2020https://www.blogger.com/profile/01999825212820503519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4465266982839881097.post-29448085534480304072012-10-12T07:13:21.489+01:002012-10-12T07:13:21.489+01:00Well this is very interesting I often wonder where...Well this is very interesting I often wonder where magenta and turquoise lie in the scheme of things...but then assume these are man made colours. You can't mix turquoise can you? I've always assumed not anyway.
I look forward to following your path with this. It's all very technical but it certainly works doesn't it. I wonder why some of us like certain colour combinations better than others and whether one's eyesight has anything to do with it. Is what I see as blue green to you and so on.... food for thought here. Love your quilt ideas and look forward to seeing what you produce.Marigold Jamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02895195019277206960noreply@blogger.com
